Lucien Arthur Paquette passed away at the age of 76 of Myrtle Beach, SC on November 2, 2019. He was affectionately known to his family and friends as LP or Tommy. LP was born in Biddeford, Maine on June 14, 1943. It was no coincidence that he was born on Flag Day as LP was a very proud American. He grew up in Maine and Canada and often shared stories of his teen years working as a Lumberjack in the woods of Jackman, Maine with his beloved uncles and pet squirrel Chipper. Lucien served his country as a USMC in communications from 1961 - 1966. He served abroad for 1.5 years and returned to NC for his remaining service. While he was on leave from the USMC in Maine, LP met his future wife Elaine Fredette. They were married in July 1963 and have enjoyed 55 years of marriage. After moving to Connecticut, Lucien began working in a factory. After working in the factory for a short time, LP decided that it was time to make his own destiny and began working in construction. He learned the trade of roofing and realized that he would be able to better provide for his growing family by working in this trade. After moving to Massachusetts, LP started his own company and became his own boss. He successfully operated the LP Roofing Company for 40 years. His success was driven because of his integrity, he was a hard worker, and his ability to successfully run a small business. Lucien was a very proud man who believed in the American Dream. To him, that meant being healthy and physically fit, working hard as a small businessman, building his own dream home, and having the ability to provide well for his wonderful family. Lucien is survived by his beautiful wife Elaine Paquette, his children Kimberly Desy and husband Mark of Myrtle Beach, SC; Shawn Paquette of Las Vegas, NV; and Dawn Moses and her husband Carl of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his grandchildren Bryce Desy; who is proudly serving as a pilot in the US Army, Hunter Moses, Graydon Desy, Jordan Moses, Conner Paquette, and Taylor Paquette and his two loving dogs Mit-z and Max. Lucien is preceded in death by his father Victor Paquette, mother Teresa Paquette, brother Roger Paquette and his beloved extended family members who helped to raise him as a youngster: Aunt Alma Maurice, Aunt Pauline and Uncle John Couture. In addition, he was preceded in death by his best friend, co-worker, and card and track buddy, Bobby Carlson. Lucien passed peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and pets.
