Veronica “Ronni Dee” Walker, age 64, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Embrace Hospice House.
Ms. Walker was born in Queens, NY, a daughter of the late Edward Walker and the late Veronica Walker.
A true creative, Ronni Dee loved singing, dancing, and was a talented artist. Her laugh was contagious, her smile was infectious. She loved fiercely. Her passion for life came through in all endeavors whether at work, play, or during service to the community. She retired from Probate Court last year, sold jewelry, sang with the Carolina Master Chorale for several years, and was active in Ovarian Cancer Awareness since 2013. She helped turn the town teal in Septembers past, often seen sporting teal wigs and hats, all to help get the word out about early detection for Ovarian Cancer. She participated in Relay for Life and Walk with a Doc.
Ronni Dee once referred to herself this way. “I am Vivacious, a Whatnexter, a loving mom, grandma, daughter, and sister fighting for my energy and lover of life. My faith in God is carrying me through this walk in the wilderness.”
